"PECO's Proposed Prepaid Meter Program Is Dangerous And Unnescessary ! " -C.L.S.
What's PECO's prepaid meter program ?
Its a "pilot" program for advanced payment, or "prepaid" services. This program will only be available to the first 2,000 people that volunteer. This program will not be available to low income customers. (Income below 150% FPL).
How does this service work ?
Customers will need to add money to their PECO account in advance to get services, when they money on their account runs out they must then add more money or the service will be shut off.
What are the cons of the prepaid service?
The biggest downfall in this new program is prepaid customers lose important protections such as Medical Certifications, 10-day Paper Termination Notice, Winter Moratorium on shut off and Affordable payment agreements. Although this is only a "pilot" program it could lead to larger scal programs that are similar to the Prepaid Meter Program.

#FedFundsMatter !! We at the Hunting Park RCR are asking for your support. Donald Trump has proposed to eliminating or cutting federal funded programs such as LIHEAP or Habitat for Humanity, these federal cuts could really hurt all the improvements we've made here in Philadelphia. These cuts could stop Community Development Block Grants as well as close down a lot of well know Neighborhood Associations. Without places like Frankford CDC, Allegheny West Foundations and Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corp. where could people of those communities go for help ? Even our own Hunting Park RCR is in danger of these eliminations. This is why we ask you all to come together to support your community funded programs by simply tweeting out a photo using the hashtag #FedFundsMatter. This is so much more than just a tweet , this is our way of showing we need these federal funded programs to stay in place for the better of our city. Share a photo with a short description of how that program impacted your life, if you can not tweet feel free to email your photo and message to Info@pacdc.org. This doesn't need to stay on twitter, facebook it, instagram it, get the word out and help support your federal funded programs. #FEDFUNDSMATTER !!!
